The Associate Director, Patient Data Stewardship is responsible for managing the end-to-end patient and specialty data ecosystem for his or her assigned brand/s. You will ensure alignment on data and reporting requirements between internal stakeholders and 3rd party providers (i.e., HUBs, Specialty pharmacies, Data processor/aggregators, Distributors). You will streamline the interaction across all stakeholders to guarantee a smooth and quality controlled data transfer process and to resolve cur-rent data issues and challenges.

Working directly for the Director, Patient & Specialty Data and in partnership with colleagues across Novartis, you will have primary responsible for ensuring that data is accurate, timely and complete for your assigned brand/s. Specifically, you will be responsible for (1) data quality and testing, (2) data supplier management, (3) stakeholder management for prioritization, issue and change management, and (4) generally ensuring that effective and accurate data flows to the Patient & Specialty Services (PSS) Analytics team to enable end-to-end patient journey tracking and effective analytics to support data review and visualization across the Novartis Pharma portfolio. You will be a critical team member in the PSS Analytics Patient & Specialty Data Management and overall PSS teams, and will help the Di-rector, Patient & Specialty Data Management with the operational management of the data capabilities for the PSS team.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for managing the end-to-end patient and specialty data ecosystem for assigned brand/s
  • Oversee Data Governance & Quality Management process for assigned brand/s with external and internal data providers to ensure timely, accurate and complete patient and specialty data
  • Inform and guide stakeholders regarding data availability, caveats and limitations to business unit brands (subject matter expert)
  • Understands business priorities/challenges and translates into data QC needs and data performance metrics
  • Defines the roadmap of data-related projects to support upcoming business changes and partners with internal and external teams to implement accordingly.
  • Defines & maintains business rules to ensure high data quality for utilization across PSS Analytics
  • Rapidly problem solves and resolves data issues for PSS Analytics as needed, working closely with IT, DS&E, Analytics, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Managed Markets, Market Access operations teams
  • Defines data quality metrics and utilizes reports and dashboards to monitor quality and enforce SLAs and data agreements
  • Analyze data sets in support of data investigations and/or data quality control
  • Ensures smooth maintenance of external data (syndicated and SP), solving the day to day issues
  • Collaborate with PSS Analytics staff to ensure consistent understanding and communication of common source issues (SP, HUB, 3rd Party Data)

What you’ll bring to the role:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree is required in relevant area, MBA preferred
  • Travel as required

Required Experience:
  • 3-5 years Specialty pharmaceutical industry or related field
  • 3-5 years of Healthcare Commercial Data Management experience with an understanding of the specialty products pharmaceuticals market, including data quality management and best practices, and data governance processes
  • Strong understanding of data warehouse and master data architecture and processes
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical information into business relevant information
  • Strong business knowledge and mindset to provide guidance on how data can be applied to answer business questions (Understanding of how data is used for analytics & reporting)
  • Vendor management skills to enforce SLAs based on data quality performance
  • Strong problem solving & project management skills

Desired Experience:
  • Deep understanding of specialty brand data (i.e. data from HUB services, Specialty Pharmacies, Syndicated vendors, internal data etc.)
  • Ability to understand pros, cons, and limitations of healthcare data, as well as have an understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of third party players involved (i.e., HUBs, specialty pharmacies);
  • Experience with Alteryx Designer and Tableau software.
