The goals of the Symposium are to:
  • Foster sharing of ideas, challenges, and learning to increase overall level of knowledge and skill from both a technical and soft skills/competency development perspective
  • Provide a training opportunity to ensure continued growth within Pharmaceutical Management Science
  • Encourage interaction and networking among peers
Potential speakers are invited to submit an abstract (Word document or PowerPoint) that clearly outlines  methodology, data sources, and specific case studies.  Due to the usually large number of submissions, the selection process is competitive. Each speaker presentation is expected to be ~90 minutes.  We highly encourage that a component of the presentation be hands-on/interactive and/or include application and learnings from real-world execution.

Topics of interest include:
  • New methodologies – theory and application.  Examples include:
    • Social determinants of health
    • Regional analytics
    • Real-time analytics
    • Machine learning for FF optimization
    • Combining secondary and primary research
    • Social listening
    • Combination and integration of multiple data sets
    • Behavioral economics
  • New developments in visualization and reporting
  • Payer and contracting analytics
  • Story-telling through data/Data translation
  • Development of your individual brand, stakeholder management

Other Considerations:
  • Be sure to include credentials of the representative speaker(s) from your organization and de-identified industry examples of your work.
  • Please tell us what is unique about your contribution.
  • We have no objection to you mentioning your organization in the presentation; however, we would like to restrict content to methodology that can be shared in explicit detail with the group.  In other words, please do not mention "black box" techniques that will not be able to be applied independently by each participant at their employing organization. Data sources and resulting predictive metrics will need to be shared in detail.

The PMSA Professional Development Committee will review the submissions and submitters will be contacted by October 21, 2019.

During the month prior to the Symposium, selected speakers will need to provide a draft copy of their presentation to the Professional Development Committee for final review and approval.  Please also note that up to one speaker per session (1 hour) will be entitled to complimentary registration. Travel and hotel accommodations are the responsibility of the presenter.
